Run, jump and shoot through an underground prison overrun by mutants.

Abuse (1996) is a side-scrolling action game by Crack dot Com. You are Nick Vrenna, the one prisoner immune to the virus that turned the guards and inmates of a desert prison into ant-like monsters. You run and jump with the keys and aim and fire with the mouse, in any direction, while the levels light up, open and collapse around you.
Laser, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, firebomb, plasma rifle and death saber; power-ups for speed, flight and health; switches, doors, teleporters and secret rooms. You save at the consoles in the levels, and the game keeps its saves in your account.
This port follows Abuse 0.8, the SDL version by Sam Hocevar, with the original's levels, graphics and Lisp game logic running unchanged. Its sounds and music are not free and are not included: the game plays silently. Online, two to eight players fight a deathmatch on the original's network levels.
